Yesterday one of the girls at work asked me if I wanted to join a women's volleyball team they were trying to get started at work. I guess if they can get a team together they will be playing on Monday evenings. I declined and said, "I played volleyball in high school... for about two weeks." Even though I did okay serving the ball, I was not very good at the rest. Whenever the ball came to me and I hit it, it would really hurt! Maybe I just wasn't hitting it right. That could explain why the ball rarely ever went over the net. She tried to convince me even more by saying it would be fun and good exercise. I do have to agree that it probably would be good excercise but I don't want to reinjure my shoulder and, for how much I smoke, I would probably have a heart attack! I don't think so.
So I was trying to think of some people who might be interested and I thought maybe Bonnie and Susie. I couldn't remember if Bonnie ever played before so I gave her a call and asked her. She said she had played volleyball once and she sucked at it but she would think about it. And then I thought about Susie. I know she was on a volleyball team in high school but would she be a joiner? I put off calling her because I knew she was busy at work the past couple of days and she does have some problems with her feet. Hmmm, should I let her know anyways? Well, work got busy the rest of yesterday and today then I completely forgot about it until a little while ago.
Joining sports-type activites is not really my thing. In high school I also tried gymnastics and track, neither of which I was good at and ended up quitting. After high school I joined a softball team for a couple of years. I wasn't very good at that either but we had tons of fun! And then there was bowling... bowling was fun too and that also lasted a couple of years. I wasn't bad but wasn't good either. One year our team even got a trophy... the skunk trophy for finishing last place. We didn't care. It was fun and an excuse to get together every week.
Now and then I think about joining the girls for pool because I'm there most weeks as a cheerleader but then I think about that one time I played and it was pretty sad. And then my thoughts tell me... nah, I'm not a pool player either.

If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter! (LOL...can you tell I watched Grease the other day?)

First I have to ask, who asked you. My second question is who is on their team and third, where would they be playing.
I would love to play depending on who it is. LOL
But they would have to realize that I may have to miss an occasional Monday because of a softball game. :)

Aww, pool is fun! Even if you don't always play well. I'm like you with volleyball, it hurts!
